Richmond, Virginia, It was recently announced by Gerald McHale, Trustee for the LandAmerica 1031 Exchange Services, Inc. Liquidating Trust (the “LES Trust“), that the LES Trust would make distributions equal to approximately 8 percent to Class 6 claims in the LandAmerica bankruptcy case. This class of claims are held by those who deposited money in a commingled account with LandAmerica 1031 Exchange Services, Inc. in order to complete a 1031 exchange on the sale of real estate. Further, the LES Trust would be sending out Distribution Certification forms to claimants to be filled out and returned prior to the additional distribution being made. These forms ask if the claimants have received any recoveries from third parties on account of their claims and how much, if anything, was received. The responses are due to the LES Trust by September 15th.
